Environmental and Agronomical Factors Limiting Differences in Potato Yielding between Organic and Conventional Production System

This paper presents the results of authors’ own research and literature on impact selected environmental agronomical factors yield potato grown under organic system possibility increasing yield. The are based conducted for several years at Institute Plant Breeding Acclimatization in Jadwisin, Poland. influence such as soil quality climatic conditions, selection varieties, seed preparation, irrigation plantations, complementary fertilization, protection against late blight was described. aim this work to indicate which these affect increase what extent. It stated that it is possible tubers through all proposed treatments. In our studies, using drip fertilization had greatest effect (25.5% 19%, respectively). Seed presprouting a smaller (4.3%) final tuber with high pressure pathogen Phytophthora infestans, cultivars resistance very important. Most treatments not only improved total tubers, but also increased share larger diameter. A variability yielding depending weather conditions emphasized. We can say proper practice carried out an plantation largely eliminate gap between conventional system.
